SHOTOVER - 6 Miles

Explore on foot Shotover Hill and the surrounding area. This walk takes in the C S Lewis nature reserve and passes the house he lived in. A beautiful woodland walk.

DORCHESTER-ON-THAMES - 6 Miles

Explore the famous village of Dorchester and walk a circuit, taking in Shillingford, Wittenham Clumps, Little Wittenham and Days Lock. This expedition includes a visit to Dorchester Abbey and museum.

Explore on foot the village of Woodstock, before taking a circular route through the grounds of Blenheim Palace, the village of Combe, Long Hanborough, and finishing with a visit to the grave of Sir Winston Churchill in Bladon.

This truly is an expedition. 16 miles of beautiful countryside. We visit the open spaces of Otmoor, with its tranquility and abundance of wildlife. Villages visited are Woodeaton, Noke, Murcott, Fencott, Charlton-on-Otmoor and Oddington.

BAMPTON - 13 Miles

Upon leaving Bampton, we will follow a circular walk back to our departure point for some well earned refreshment. This walk will take us past a modern day wind farm and on to the River Thames. Following the River Thames, we will enter Chimney Meadows National Nature Reserve. A beautiful walk with terrific scenery.

OXFORD CANAL - 23 Miles

A glorious walk for all you hardy hikers. 23 miles of the beautiful Oxford Canal starting at Banbury and finishing in the centre of Oxford. We will travel through the villages of Aynho, Somerton, Upper Heyford, Shipton and Kidlington. Being on the canal system, this walk is entirely flat, although of some length. A fantastic day out.

FARMOOR - 10 Miles

After leaving Farmoor reservoir, which is the venue for many types of water sports, we will cross the River Thames and navigate some of the Thames flood plain. The walk will then take us between the River Windrdush on one side and gravel pits on the other, bringing us eventually to the lovely village of Stanton Harcourt. From here we will then return to Farmoor reservoir for some refreshment. This walk can be extremely waterlogged after a heavy rainfall.

On this walk, we will follow the Thames footpath from Abingdon all the way into central Oxford, enjoying all the great scenery and action to be seen along this section of the 183 miles River Thames.

BURFORD VIA THE WINDRUSH VALLEY- 10 Miles

Starting in Witney and finishing in Burford 
which is considered the southern gateway to
 the Cotswolds. You'll follow the River 
Windrush taking in the superb scenery as well 
as some pretty villages and other attractions including the English Heritage site of Minster Lovell Hall, stopping for a spot of lunch in the beautiful old Cotswold town of Burford.

THAME VALLEY MANOR WALK  - 12 Miles

Starting on the outskirts of Oxford at Cuddesdon, we will travel through the Oxfordshire countryside, visiting four Oxfordshire villages where time appears to have stood still. Great Milton, Little Milton, Great Haselsy and Little Haseley. These picturesque villages are some of the most beautiful in Oxfordshire.

DAY EXPEDITIONS - TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR BOOKING

  1. Your expedition contract is with SPR Expeditions Ltd. When you make the booking, you guarantee that you have the authority to accept and do accept, on behalf of your party, the terms of these booking conditions.
  2. Full payment is due at the time of booking on all of our day expeditions. On receipt of your payment, you will be sent a confirmation of your booking
  3. All day expeditions are non-refundable, so any cancellations will incur a loss of all monies.
  4. In the unlikely event of us needing to cancel the day expedition, we will offer a full refund or the option to transfer onto a different expedition. All local walks must have at least 2 paying passengers or it will have to be cancelled and you will receive a full refund.
